The Analog Bride: A Type B Girl Suddenly Becomes a Type A Bride
Posted in :
So, I said yes. What now?
People around me told me to savor the engagement period because once you get to wedding planning you’ll miss that feeling. And boy, did I miss being ignorant.
The Transformation Nobody Warned Me About
I wish someone had told me that getting engaged does something to a person. One day you’re a chill, go with the flow girlie who keeps all her important notes in the Notes app. The next day you have a Pinterest board labeled ‘wedding’ and stressing out about your centerpieces.
From savoring the engagement phase for a month, then having that non existent deadline in my head that we have to start planning ahead. Looking back now, it’s so funny how I had sleepless nights due to researching the perfect venue and suppliers. Spoiler, all the wedding suppliers we booked were not my first choice based on just online research. Find out why on our venue hunting day and bridal fair attendance.
Deep down, I know I’m very Type B. It’s planning our wedding that made me realize that I am a Type A bride. Hopefully, not a bridezilla.
But here’s the thing, I am still very much the same analog girlie I have always been. I still reach for my junk journal before I reach for my laptop. I still prefer having a vision board on my journal rather than making it on Pinterest.
I’m just also now apparently someone who overthinks wedding details.
So What Is The Analog Bride?
The Analog Bride is my wedding series. And honestly, it’s just me documenting my April 2027 wedding the only way I know how.
That means junk journals instead of wedding planning apps. DIY everything. Maybe I’ll include bookish activities to make my bookish-self happy. And the Type A bride side of me is going to be occasionally using spreadsheets.
My wedding is going to be whimsical, colorful, and deeply personal.
It’s going to be very, very ME. And fine, my husband-to-be.
What To Expect
Over the next several months leading up to April 2027, I’ll be sharing:
- The wedding planning process — the good, the chaotic, and the very Type A moments I never saw coming
- My wedding junk journal — because of course, I have a wedding journal
- Bridal fair and venue vlogs — my personal experience and tips
- DIY wedding projects — I have plenty of inspo saved on Instagram and Pinterest
- All the analog details — because details are everything
